Nepal malnutrition affecting half of under-fives

Malnutrition:
Almost half of Nepal’s children under five are suffering from malnutrition. There has been slow progress in cutting poverty. And health experts say that extra attention should be given to women during pregnancy and for the first two years of the child’s life. They say with out it the child can have permanent intellectual damage. Health exports have said that more needs to be done. The Nepalese plans to use an already established network of 50,000 female health volunteers to combat malnutrition. It says it plans to make nutrition a key element of its upcoming national health plan.

I do agree with the government. I think that they need to get more help for the children. And I think that they need more volunteers to help out. And I also think that it is bad that over half the population is suffering from this problem. They need to come up with more supportive and better plans to help the people with the malnutrition issues. They need to make sure that all the children get the care they need and don’t develop permanent damage on them selves and get the vitamins they need. That is what I think of the situation.

Gunmen Shoot Nepal Publisher:

Nepali news paper publisher Arun Singhaniya was in Janakpur when he was shot by passing motorcyclists. He was 53 at the time and owned his own radio station. Some journalists say that it was political instability that lead to this and other killings. Singhaniya had been traveling home after celebrating the Hindu festival of Holi when he was attacked. When he arrived at the hospital he was pronounced dead. His murder had been the most recent in a series of killings. Uma Singh, a young female reporter who worked for Singhaniya, was hacked to death. Also the owner of Nepal's first cable television channel was shot dead in Kathmandu.

I believe that politicians have a will to stop this but they don't want "to get thier hands dirty" so to speak. Also it seems that the murders have been targeting people involed in news spreading activites. If these people were given a little bit of protection then it would be possible to lower if not stop the murders. If these so called wandering gang-like groups were found and prosecuted that could also help to end te killing.
